Here are several lists of food markets in the Saone-et-Loire and Côte-d'Or departments of Bourgogne (Burgundy).  Burgundy is huge, so only some of these will be reachable in a quick 30 minute trip and the rest will be longer day trips.  That's what google maps is for!  Most markets end by 1pm, so plan accordingly.

local specialties and vendors

Bourgogne is known for several products:  

  • epoisses (a strong, soft cheese)
  • regal de bourgogne (a milder soft cheese soaked in alcohol and raisins)
  • goat cheese
  • escargots (snails)
  • boeuf bourguignon (beef stew)
  • marc de Bourgogne (local variation of brandy)
  • cremant de Bourgogne (like champagne, but they aren't allowed to call it that)
  • creme de cassis (blackberry liqueur)
  • kir (crème de cassis + white wine)
  • kir royale (crème de cassis + crémant de Bourgogne)
  • jambon persille (pate of name and pork with parsley gelatin)
  • wine (obviously)
  • mustard (dijon)
  • bresse chicken
  • charolais beef
  • oeufs en meurette (eggs poached in red wine sauce)
  • truffles
